We were babies when we were first sold and bought. Our story remains unknown in its beggining, who was our mother, how many babies was she forced to have so that she made a profit. But, the moment we were bought, our lives seemed to go well. Our new owners were nice to us, they for the most part liked us, but they didn't think that we would ever grow up. They didn't realize we would grow in size, that the food we ate would increase, that the space we needed would have to expand. They started letting us roam the streets everyday, until one day they moved, and didn't take us with them.

Defensores de Animales rescued us and gave us up for adoption together. We thought everything would be better, and it was... for a little bit.

Our new guardians loved us, but as it sometimes happens with humans, they started having problems and separated. The separation affected the whole family, including us. We are now up for adoption again.

We don't understand much of this, only that we are happy together, that we are joyful, and that we love each other. We are looking for a really permanent home. We don't want to be victims of circumstance, getting attached to humans that later break our hearts. We want a stable home where we can love and be loved.

We are still young adults. We would prefer being adopted together, but if that can't be done, we would have to move on and continue being joyful, hoping that the other will have luck in finding a loving home. We are easy going and we just want to have a home.

If you think you can be that home, please contact Defensores de Animales.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.defensoresdeanimalespr.org/star-of-the-week/2008/11/9/name-unknown-affection-certain.html"><rss:title>Name Unknown, Affection Certain</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.defensoresdeanimalespr.org/star-of-the-week/2008/11/9/name-unknown-affection-certain.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

I don't have a name yet. But that's alright, I've had worse!

I lived in a shelter, and was desperate to find someone to care for me. Once sunny day, a lady came in, pet me, and said she'd take me home! She promised me love! They neutered me, and prepared me. I was excited as can be. The day came when she had to come back for me. I had said goodbye to my other friends at the shelter, and was waiting anxiously to meet the rest of my new family. I waited. And waited. And waited some more. And she never came. The days passed, they turned into months. Every new footstep startled me, it could be her coming back for me! But, no luck. Since she never came back, I was placed in the list. THE list. My days were numbered, I would be "put to sleep". Killed because no one wants me, Killed because there's not enough room. Killed because the governent doesn't give shelters enough money to feed and house us. Killed. I didn't want to die. I still don't.

One very kind woman, saved me from imminent death, and handed me over to the DDA for help. They gave me a temporary home, until they find someone that will care for me, forever. Someone that will allow me to love them, to look up to them in love and adoration. Will that be you? I don't have a name yet, but I have lots of love to give!
