We will split into two groups. One group will help bathe the dogs in the Sanctuary. The other group will help to clean up the  grounds. Bring your towel, trimmer, lawn mower and desire to help the Saint Francis of Assisi Sanctuary!  Lets be the voice for those that cannot speak.

The animals arrived safely. The staff at the shelter were warm and welcoming, and the animals are eager to find new and permament homes.  Our thanks to everyone who has helped in the process!!

How much money do you spend on a coffee, a soda, or a candy? Nowadays, a dollar is not enough to buy basic cravings. It's not enough for basic necessities. However, for a dog or cat a the Saint Francis of Assisi Sanctuary, a dollar a week means healthy food, daily care, and a fate away from cruelty.

The Saint Francis of Assisi Sanctuary is one of the only two animal sanctuaries in Puerto Rico that do not practice euthanasia. It counts with an admission of more than 100 dogs and cats that have been abandoned and abused by people that should have looked after their health and protection.  The costs of food, veterinary care, medications and employees, among other things, reach high amounts and seem to increase day by day. This is why, we come to you and propose that you join our 1x7=gift of love campaign.

During seven days, the members and supporters of Defensores de Animales, will donate at least a dollar. With that single dollar, you will be feeding, caring and providing medication for dogs and cats, in need and with a lot of love to give.

Join us and you will feel the satisfaction of changing the lives of more than 100 dogs and cats!

Stop by with your dog at the Pedigree Dog Day on Sunday! They will have veterinary consultation, a grooming area, an area for dog games, educational speakers, agility competitions by the Puerto RIco Dog Agility Association, an interactive show "De Varona Super Dogs", obedience demonstrations, a chance to meet search and rescue dogs, an adoption center by the San Juan Municipality, a magic show, dog accesories for sale, children activities, and much more!

Every dog must remain on leash throughout the entire activity.

Defensores de Animales will have an outreach table with information, dogs for adoption, t-shirts and other surprises!

We hope to see you with your dog!
